Abstract :
In the August issue of the Newsletter I used this column to explan the action by the AdCom to increase the dues from $8 to $12 per year. In this issue, I want to present a "state of the Society" discussion which I delivered to the AdCom during our annual meeting in Syracuse. However, before I do that I would like to once again thank Bud Adams and his fellow workers in Syracuse for an extremely well run and thoroughly enjoyable meeting. I stayed in the dormitory this time and even the dorm food was exceptional!
