Abstract :
How to develop the calculations needed to evaluate twisted-pair cable using a mathematical tool called Math CAD is explained. The mathematical solutions do not replace the exact results generated by a Smith chart, which is needed for the actual testing of the network, but they may be used as close approximations for selecting this type of cable for use in the testing of the networks.<>
