Abstract
A modified limiting nonlinear representation of the magnetic characteristic of saturating ferromagnetic materials is employed in conjunction with the Maxwell field equations in the analysis of various types of problems that arise for time-varying magnetization processes of solid steel structures. The B-H relationship of the material is expressed by the broken-line representation: B = + Bk + ¿H, H>0; B = ¿ Bk + ¿H, H<0; ¿ Bk¿B¿ + Bk, H = 0. (Bk and ¿ are constants; their choice may depend on the range of values of the field intensity arising in the specific problem.)
