Abstract :
In the broad-band switching system there is no ¿flat-rate¿ service; an exact charge must be made for each call, based on the distance, the time (in units of 6 seconds), and the bandwidth requested. Billing information is gathered by a ticketer in the originating office, rearranged by a tabulator, and permanently recorded by means of a tape-perforator.
