  • Abstract
    An optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR) is automated to measure transmission loss and return loss of individual faults as well as the entire fiber span. Experimental and field trail results confirm that this technique enables fiber testing and fault locating to be carried out at one location with little or no human intervention
