Abstract :
A simple expression is presented for N-element coupled-cavity semiconductor lasers using semiclassical theory which can be used for both passive and active coupled-cavity configurations. The theoretical explanations are in good agreement with the experimental results. However, because of the low-frequency approximation in this analysis (carrier fluctuation is not considered), the theoretical results are not suitable for the noise properties in the high-frequency region
