Abstract :
Different types of recording media for ion-beam deposited CoNi/Cr are discovered depending on the correlations between Cr(110), Cr(200) and Co(110) X-ray diffraction peaks intensities. Homogeneous Cr(110) and Cr(200) media as well as mixed media with Cr(110) and Cr(200) predominances can be separated depending on the presence of peaks and their intensities. The dependences between Cr(110), Cr(200) and Hc values are plotted and mixed media with Cr(200) predominance are found to be optimal. Maximal Hc of 2260 Oe for CoNi/Cr corresponds to this texture type where ICr(200)/ICr(110) =2.3. This result seems to be of interest for the possibility of the control of industrial Co alloys to increase Hc value by changing the texture
