Abstract :
With the widespread use of CAD systems in industry, transfer of CAD data is a problem of increasing importance. This paper considers alternative data transfer methods between supplier companies and main manufacturers in the motor industry, although the procedures and options described are applicable to other industries. Results obtained from attempted data transfer via magnetic tapes containing two-dimensional information are presented, and comparisons are drawn between European and UK installations, with particular emphasis on data transfer
