Abstract :
This paper addresses the problem of identifying the class of all multichannel stable system transfer functions that extend the given partial impulse response matrix sequence. This is achieved by making use of the left- and right-Schur recursion algorithms for bounded matrix functions, and in this context, the classical Pade approximations that are also stable are shown to be a special case of this general formulation. Further, the theory developed here is utilized to generate multichannel non-minimum phase optimal rational approximations to multichannel nonrational systems from their partial impulse response matrix sequence
