            Abstract :
This paper deals with the modeling of the statistical distribution of the effective gain of terminals. This incorporates both the characteristics of the antenna´s radiation pattern in the situation of use, and the characteristics of the local propagation environment. A frequency-wise and frequency-correlated log-normally-distributed effective-gain model is proposed as a standard model of wide - although not universal - validity. This is done mainly for the sake of simplicity and ease of use. This model is tested in a few exemplary cases of measured and simulated terminals, using a subset of the WINNER channel model for the local propagation.
