Abstract
In order to clarify the mechanism of the coercivity in the CoCrTa perpendicular thin film medium, measurements of the angular dependence of the magnetic properties of the film were made using a biaxial VSM with partial demagnetizing field correction. The two possible mechanisms of magnetization reversal by nucleation and domain wall pinning are analyzed
