            Abstract : 
PRML channels for perpendicular magnetic recording with a ring head and a single layer magnetic media are investigated. The general expression of these PRML channels with dipulse-shaped signals is defined, and one PRML channel suitable for high-speed processing with a compact circuit is found. Simulations confirm that these PRML channels have better performance than for longitudinal magnetic recording
