A note on the diagrammatic estimation of phase-sequence components

The evaluation of symmetrical components is arithmetically tedious and a graphical estimation by the usual method involves three separate graphical constructions, one for each component. Genesio has shown that a modification of the equations makes it possible to determine all three components by means of a single graphical constructioa. This method is here extended to the construction of a diagram calculator by means of which the three components can be read from a single setting of two Perspex discs. The reverse determination of the unbalanced system from a set of components is also possible.
