Abstract :
This article describes the development of a CAE software system, called CAENIC, that enables application domain users to create electronic systems regardless of any lack of high-level electronic engineering skill. As the method will shorten design and building time from weeks to days, it should also be useful to electronic engineers as the starting point of more sophisticated designs. While being, as yet, far from an adequately complete and routine tool, sufficient progress has been made in the development of CAENIC to make worthwhile a report on the strategy being used and the problems to be overcome
