The use of analogue computers in predicting the space-time behaviour of nuclear reactors

The study of the dynamic behaviour of a complex system such as a nuclear reactor is conveniently performed on an analogue computer. The equations to be solved are described, and three approximations suitable in different circumstances are given. The application of one of these methods to an investigation of spatial instabilities is presented.
