Abstract
This paper is discussing the effect of measurement noise on identifying and locating a single phase fault using wavelet technique, the fault is located based on one terminal voltage measurement, the dubachies wavelet is used as a mother wavelet in this paper, the accuracy of the estimated fault location based on different levels of this wavelet is discussed, and a suggested technique is proposed to eliminate the effect of the measurement noise on the fault location.
