Abstract :
A basic two-body problem using spherical conductors is solved using Maxwell´s equations. The model is used to predict the electrostatic discharge (ESD) characteristics of two types of electronic systems. The same technique can be used in multiple-body problems if the capacitance coefficients are measured. The theoretical analysis is presented and the method is applied to determine the ESD susceptibility of a typical system
