Abstract :
A number of significant advances have been made recently in the MSW-based integrated magnetooptics. Resulting new class of optical devices called MO Bragg cell modulators which are capable of providing desirable features similar to that of the now prevalent AO Bragg cell modulators, but with potentially superior performance characteristics, have been realized. These advances have paved the way for realization of a variety of MSW-based integrated MO device modules, such as high-speed optical scanners and space switches, electronically tunable carrier frequency band RF spectrum analyzers and correlators, and optical frequency shifters and modulators with applications to RF signal processing and communications
