Abstract
A phase locked loop (PLL) method for controlling a 4 GHz active patch antenna was investigated in order to both frequency stabilise the oscillator and to reduce the phase noise; both these aims were achieved by optimising the PLL parameters. Experimental results showed that a phase noise reduction of up to 26 dB was realised
