Abstract :
The paper presents a new electronic starter for single phase induction motors. It replaces the well known starting capacitor as a phase shifting component in the auxiliary winding circuit. Moreover, the auxiliary winding is disconnected automatically, without any additional switch, when the motor gets close to its rated speed. The operation principle of the starter is theoretically explained, and illustrated with experimental results
