Abstract :
The successful transmission of 30 channels each at 40 Gbit/s line rate (1.2 Tbit/s aggregate capacity) through 85 km of non-zero dispersion (TrueWave) fibre is reported. A 40 Gbit/s NRZ OTDM transmitter and a 3R receiver were employed. Error free transmission was achieved using minimal dispersion compensation in groups
