Abstract :
Application-oriented characterizations were carried out for Sm2(Co,Fe,Cu,Zr)17 permanent magnets in which both high temperature effects and aging effects are taken into account. Experimental results indicate that application-oriented characterization may provide data more application-oriented than traditional high temperature aging test data. The irreversible loss of the maximum energy product of Sm2(Co,Fe,Cu,Zr)17 caused from thermal demagnetization increases rapidly with temperature. It should be possible to reduce this loss by optimizing magnet compositions and heat treatments, which would significantly improve the high temperature performance of Sm2(Co,Fe,Cu,Zr)17 magnets
