Abstract :
A description is given of a coded decimal addition-subtraction unit designed for use in a digital differential analyser. The design is based upon a 1125 code which is considered to be more economical in this application than the familiar codes. The circuits employ junction-transistor flip-flops driving diode gating circuits. Part 2 of the paper is concerned with a discussion of these circuits.
