Abstract :
The authors developed a method based on the concept of heterogeneous condensation on charged centres (ions), for the preparation of nanoparticles that allows the control synthesis of particles with sizes from 10 to 100 nm. The technique is used to fabricate thin films of silver nanoparticles. According to the scanning electron microscope measurements, the average size of the nanoparticles could be tuned between 10 and 100 nm. Optical extinction measurements show a shift in the absorption peak that correlates well with average size.
