Abstract :
The potential of a quantum dash based modelocked laser to achieve a low phase noise oscillator by means of an optical self-injection loop is demonstrated. A phase noise as low as -105-dBc/Hz at an offset frequency of 100-kHz has been achieved with such a configuration.
