Abstract :
An examination of experimental results on corrugated surface waveguides as reported recently by Barlow and Karbowiak is carried out. An empirical modification to the theoretical formula for the surface impedance is derived which is applicable for all values of surface parameters, provided that the pitch of corrugation is less than about one-quarter of the wavelength.
