Abstract :
For many records and information management (RIM) professionals, cloud computing resembles a traditional hosting service: information storage or applications are outsourced to a third-party provider and accessed by the organization through a network connection. However, the information, applications, and processing power in a cloud infrastructure are distributed across many servers and stored along with other customers´ information, separated only by logical isolation mechanisms. This presents both new RIM challenges and benefits.
