The development of the microwave detection of nonelectrical properties in China

This paper presents a brief survey of the evolution of microwave detection of nonelectrical quantities in China. In this historical review, emphasis is placed on some typical measurements, such as moisture content, thickness, velocity, temperature, etc. Remarkable progress in this field has been made in China during the past decade. However, many years may be needed to catch up with advances in other countries. The direction for further development is pointed out.
