Abstract :
This reported work elaborates a novel spatial-domain modulation scheme for multi-antenna wireless communication transceivers, dubbed as Symbol Coordinate Representations in Antenna Domains (SCRAD) modulation, which achieves better error performance compared to other schemes such as spatial modulation and generalised space shift keying at the same data rate. Specifically, the coordinate representing message in a signal constellation is depicted on the transmit-antenna array by leveraging activation patterns and binary phase shift keying signals. In addition, a reduced-complexity detector with maximum-likelihood performance is developed based on the unique signal structure of SCRAD modulation.
