Chapter News

At the time of writing this column, many of our members were just back from this year´s wonderful Symposium, held in Spokane, Washington, in early July. During the Symposium, we also had a great Chapter Chairs Luncheon, on July 7, 2011. Our current AP-S President, Prof. Magdalena Salazar Palma, and our immediate Past President, Prof. Bob Nevels, were present at the meeting, along with twenty Chapter Chairs or representatives (Figure 1). Prof. Wen-Shan Chen, Chair of the Tainan Chapter and also the recipient of this year´s Best Chapter Award, made a very interesting and informative presentation during the luncheon. He shared with the audience many technical, outreach, and social activities that the Tainan Chapter organized in the past year. The meeting also discussed a number of issues raised by Chapter officers.
