Abstract :
This issue of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters (GRSL) marks a change in our publication schedule. Starting this month, the IEEE GRSL will be published bimonthly, changing the publication rate to accommodate the huge number of submissions, increased by 20% from 2009. Although the rejection rate for submitted papers hits a new maximum in 2010 (64.5%), the Administrative Committee of the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) decided to increase the number of issues published per year from four to six in order to further reduce the time from submission to printed publication, currently around 14 weeks. At the time of this writing, the editorial staff is already working on the May issue, immediately including the papers that are accepted in these days in the next available slot. Moreover, IEEE GRSL issues can now be published as a whole in IEEE Xplore as soon as they are completed.
