Abstract :
It is proved that the variable conductance of calcium ions (Ca+2) through the nerve membrane protein channel, labelled as gCa, in the Morris-Lecar nerve membrane macro circuit model, can be further modelled as a voltage-dependent one port memristor element. In this representation of gCa as a memristor, properties of this nonlinear time invariant conductance are proven to be equivalent to the properties of Chua´s memristive one-port model.
