Abstract :
The authors report the observation of a cavity mode, at λ=0.94 μm, which is tightly confined between two slabs of two-dimensional photonic crystals deeply etched into a laser-like heterostructure waveguide. Guided photoluminescence of this heterostructure is used as an internal point source to probe the horizontal cavity
