Abstract
Adaptive finite elements have been used in bounded electromagnetic held problems. Here h-adaptive finite element method is used together with spatial transformation techniques to model open boundary electromagnetic field problems. The spatial transformation method maps the external unbounded domain into a bounded domain, so that it can be refined and adapted in the same way as the interior finite elements
