Abstract :
Static pre-compensators are used in industrial applications to reduce interactions of a multivariable system to facilitate implementation of decentralised single-loop control systems. Whilst a wide range of techniques exist for the design of static pre-compensators, not all types of system interactions will yield to a static design. Outlined is a simple test which constitutes a necessary condition for a solution to exist.
