Abstract :
One of two Voyager spacecraft launched in 1977 to explore the outer planets, Voyager 1 is now located more than 18.3 billion kilometres from the Earth. Data making the journey from Voyager 1 to the antennas of Nasa´s Deep Space Network on Earth details the number of charged particles measured by two high-energy telescopes aboard the spacecraft. These energetic particles were generated when stars in our cosmic ´neighbourhood´ went supernova.
