Abstract
The training of would-be project managers is undermined by confusion and isolation from best current practice. Successful project management requires that the discipline is able to integrate a wide variety of factors. But the question that must be asked is, what is a fitting preparation for young people soon to be entering industry and embarking upon projects of their own? The author argues that the solution lies in greater co-operation between industry and academia
