Windows 98 is upon us like the plague. Consumers are poking at their Web browsers to download copies of Microsoft´s cash cow as Intel and Microsoft rake in the profits from hardware and software upgrades. It is techno-treadmill time once again. In the excitement we forget one small detail: these may be damaged goods. Microsoft has quietly downplayed its damaged goods.
