Abstract :
The authors describe a single-chip, digitally synthesised, analogue function generator. The device uses the `direct frequency synthesis´ (DFS) approach. It is expected to find applications in instrumentation, radar and electronic warfare. It has a capability for the generation of sine, triangle and square waves from 1 Hz to 500 MHz, with a minimum frequency increment of 1 Hz
