Abstract :
The author discusses the CEGB power system, in particular the power stations operated by the CEGB. The CEGB operates 78 power stations with a net capacity of 52 GW. About 77% of generation is from coal, 16% from nuclear power, the rest is made up of hydroelectric, oil and gas. For the future, 900 MW coal-fired units are under development and the first PWR is under construction
