Abstract
A simple and efficient technique for compression and storage of two-tone images is proposed. The technique exploits the two-dimensional correlation present in the image data. It has been found that the proposed technique works well with any two-tone image. In particular, it is advantageous for graphics, line diagrams and for texts whose OCR´s are not available. The result shows about 50%, 67% and 75% saving in the memory with slight variation in the proposed technique over runlength coding
