Abstract
A simple framework for analysing the performance of multifibre WDM mesh networks using spatial fibre distribution is introduced by relatively comparing their performance to that of conventional WDM cross-connect networks. Preliminary analysis shows that multifibre networks need a larger amount of fibre, but can be applied to a relatively short-haul region by virtue of their simple node design
