Abstract :
Error-free operation of a wavelength conversion laser diode (WCLD) is demonstrated. The optical input/output interface scheme of the WCLD has been examined and wavelength switching at a data rate of 125 Mbit/s has been experimented on. Good error rates below 10-10 and a small sensitivity degradation of 2.0 to 2.9 dB were achieved.
