Abstract
This paper continues the investigation by Godfrey and Murgatroyd into the effects of using imperfect pseudorandom binary inputs in crosscorrelation experiments. Their result, concerning nonreversible transitions in msequences, is generalised, and the method of determining the effect on the measured crosscorrelation function is simplified. The important practical case for which the transitions are of exponential form is considered, and the correction to be applied to the measured crosscorrelation function to obtain the impulse response is evaluated.
