Abstract :
We propose a wavelength-division-multiplexed (WDM)/time-division-multiplexed (TDM) passive optical network (PON) system suitable for dynamic control of transmission sequence and duration. The system employs a wavelength selective filter and a shared multichannel light source. We experimentally demonstrated its feasibility using an acoustooptic tunable filter and a four-channel WDM source.
