Abstract :
A method of simulating any load would be very useful for the testing of many power drives. The paper examines three feedback-controlled systems whereby inertia loads can be simulated without using flywheels. One system, which has been found to be of a type suitable for the simulation of train loads for laboratory studies of the utilisation and control of traction motors, is described in detail.
