The relations which the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Institute of Mining and Metallurgical Engineers, The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers bear to the Engineering Societies Library were outlined in the statements of H. P. Charles worth, president of the A.I.E.E., and assistant chief engineer of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company, New York, N.
