Rapid graphical analysis of a tunnel-diode oscillator

A tunnel-diode monostable multivibrator has been studied by constructing a single trajectory on the i/v characteristics of the tunnel diode. As there is a definite point on the characteristic at which the trigger is applied, this forms the starting point for the construction of the trajectory. In the paper it is shown that a similar procedure can be applied for nearly sinusoidal oscillations, and the waveform and the period of oscillations are then easily obtained.
