Revised connected component algorithm and similarity measure quotient; application in handwritten Bengali character recognition

A revised connected component algorithm is presented. It has been demonstrated that it is less sensitive to variations in handwritten data with respect to the original algorithm when applied with a novel similarity measure quotient as introduced here.
