Abstract :
The second order asymptotic approximation of the propagated double exponential pulse through waveguide or plasma is obtained by using the steepest descent method, and analytical expressions of the amplitude and phase function of the first order asymptotic expansion are derived. Numerical examples are then given and compared with the results of both Hosono´s method and the branch cut integration (BCI)-IFFT method for verification
